The hotel with an amazing apartment made from a Boeing 727 fuselage! Now it is lined with teak paneling and modern furnishings from the former cockpit to the former tail! The apartments furnishings include hand-carved, imported Java, Indonesian teak furniture. The former flying object features two air conditioned bedrooms--two queen sized beds in one, and one queen in the second. The rooms feature their own private baths, flat screen TV, a kitchenette, dining area, a foyer; an ocean view terrace; a private entrance up a river rock, spiral staircase; and 360 degrees of surrounding gardens. The refurbished Boeing is not the only so built dwelling in the world. This one was actually inspired by a Forbes Magazine article. |
The article featured a company that offered hurricane-save living quarters via such surplus Boeing 727 airframes. Hotel Verde tells us that they they had a the goal of introducing both convenience and luxury to "such a very prosaic bit of aluminum scrap." |
